Driving Test

My preferred test centre for your driving test is Gornal.

If you prefer you can take it at any of the other local test centre's including Kidderminster & Wednesbury.  PLEASE NOTE: Bromsgrove & Quinton test centre's are no longer available for tests due to closure.

The cost of taking your test is £56.50 this is payable to The Driving Standards Agency at the time of booking. Plus a 2 hour lesson for the use of the car in the hour prior to the test and the test period! For more information on test fee's visit the DSA website.

When you have done the training and can drive to a good standard it will then be time to go for your test. On the day of your test when you arrive at the test centre, you will need your provisional licence both paper and photograph parts, your letter to confirm your appointment, your theory test certificate and another photographic proof of i.d. (passport, student card, bus pass, ID card)

When the examiner comes out he will call your name, then check your documents,, he will then introduce himself, and you will then go to the car, your examiner will the give you the eye test where you will have to read a number plate from 20 metre's or 66 feet. The examiner will then ask you 2 questions one show me and one tell me.
 
When the examiner has taken the details of the car, the driving part of the test will begin.
You will be tested on a number of things, you will be asked to perform 2 of the following manoeuvres,
reverse around a corner, turn in the road,  reverse park bay parking, 1 in 3 tests have to do a controlled stop, details can be found on the lessons page
The test lasts for 40 minutes, at the end of the test the examiner will tell you whether you have passed or failed, if you have passed you will be given a pass certificate, if you have failed the examiner will ask you if you would like the faults explained if you say yes, the examiner will explain why you have failed and give you a copy of the fail sheet showing the faults.
